World of Work
Given the complexity of organisations, we’ve developed a joined-up view of the workplace that we refer to as the World of Work. It helps us think clearly about the impact and reach of organisational challenges – positively and negatively – and how to embed effective and sustainable solutions. It also echoes the responsibilities that professionals and their teams have within organisations.
The employee journey is the path we all take though our careers. For employers, it’s how people move through your organisation: how you assess, choose and develop them and why they leave. But what impact does it have that people now change jobs every couple of years? And how can you manage your career if you go it alone?
The evolving organisation is about how organisations, and the people who work for them, deal with the one constant of modern life: change. How do organisations change their structure and culture to keep up with the competition? How do they prepare their employees for that change? And how do employees respond?
The work environment is the factors that make up your daily experience of work,
from how your organisation uses technology and divides up the tasks to how your environment affects the way you feel. And now that so many of us work at home or on the go, are we more likely to fulfil our potential? Does flexible working suit everyone?
The healthy workplace is about how work affects your wellbeing, as well as that of your team or wider organisation. It includes things like bullying and harassment, job-related stress and conflict between colleagues, and whether initiatives to tackle these issues actually work.
